TUCSON SHOOTING: THE 6 DEAD: WHO WERE THEY?

Among the dead are:

Christina-Taylor Green – ML-00069 – She was age 9 at the time of the shooting. She was shot (1) time in the torso. An autopsy was performed on 1/10/11 at 8:40am. No crime scene was listed in the autopsy. Her body was identified by University Medical Center personnel. She is referred to occasionally in this report as the ‘9/11 girl‘ because Christina was born on September 11, 2001, on the day on which nearly 3,000 people died as the Twin Towers were blown up. She was featured in “Faces of Hope,”  a book with pictures of babies from 50 states who were born on that tragic day. Morris, Dorothy – ML-00065 –Dorothy Jean Morris was 76 years of age at the time of the shooting. She was shot (2) times in the torso. Her body was taken from the Safeway crime scene to Pima Co. Medical Examiner’s office on 1/8/11 at 5:45 pm. Her body was identified by Pima County Sheriff’s Office personnel. Dorothy attended St. Thomas Catholic grade school and Bishop Manogue High School. She worked as an executive secretary for the Internal Revenue Service, on the Marine Corps Base where her husband George was stationed and on several other Naval Air Stations where George was in training. She was also a George’s partner in Town and Ranch Realty. Dorothy was a member of Daughters of the Nile Ammon-Ra Temple and Sierra Silver Wheels Trailer Club. 

Roll, John, ML-00064 – Judge John Roll was 63 at the time of his death.  He was a federal judge for the 9th Circuit Court. He was shot (1) time in the torso. His body was taken from the Safeway crime scene to Pima Co. Medical Examiner’s office on 1/8/11 at 5:45 pm. An autopsy was performed on Jan 09, 11 at 10:40am. Schneck, Phyllis – ML-00063 – She was 79 at the time of the shooting. She was shot (1) time in head. An autopsy was performed on 1/09/11 at 1:00pm. Her body was taken from the Safeway crime scene to Pima Co. Medical Examiner’s office on 1/8/11 at 5:45 pm. Her body identified by Pima County Sheriff’s Office personnel. She lived in Rutherford, N.J. and spent her winters in Tuscon. Schneck kept returning to Arizona for winters even after her husband died in 2007. At the time of the shooting, Schneck had three children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Stoddard, Dorwan – ML-00067– Dorwan was 76 at the time of the shooting. He was shot (2) times: head and torso. An autopsy was performed on 1/9/11 at 3:30pm. His body was identified by Pima County Sheriff’s Office personnel. His body was taken from the Safeway crime scene to Pima Co. Medical Examiner’s office on 1/8/11 at 5:45 pm. Stoddard died while shielding his wife, Marvy Stoddard, from the gunman at the Congresswoman on Your Corner event that morning. Dorwan was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 12 & 428 from the years of 1954 to 1988. During this time he worked on numerous construction projects to include the Nevada Test Site.

Zimmerman, Gabe – ML-00066 – Zimmerman was the director of community outreach for U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords at the time of the shooting. He was 30 years old and was shot (2) times: head and graze to buttocks. An autopsy was performed on 1/9/11 at 8:30am. His body was identified by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office personnel. His body was taken from the Safeway crime scene to Pima County Medical Examiner’s office on 1/8/11 at 5:45 pm. Zimmerman held a master’s degree from the ASU School of Social Work and graduated with honors from UC-Santa Cruz with a degree in sociology in 2002.
